New Tools for Site Security
There’s a new tool for those of us who are responsible for the health and well being of our global websites … “Security Issues” … now available on Google’s Webmaster Tools. If you haven’t head of this toolset, make sure to give it a serious look. It’s free and is chock full of useful website monitoring tools.
You can use this new area to review any sites and pages that have been (at least reported by Google) attacked by malware or spam. The listings are very helpful, in that they will list the direct URL and the date of the attack.
In addition, if detected, Webmaster Tools will also list the type of malware that made the attack. Another feature to take advantage of is the ability to setup alert notifications when an attack is detected.
If you’ve ever had to deal with a site cleanup, first … join the club … second you’ll find these new tools very handy!
