It’s March, and that means “Spring Break” for many colleges is upon us! So in that spirit I thought I would share some new online course offerings I’ve come across to help increase your IT skill set … and many for no charge!
Online College Courses
I freely share two online course sites I think you’ll find very useful:
- Coursera : http://www.coursera.org/
- edX : http://www.edx.org/
Both offer a wide range of courses, online and many in the IT field.
Examples of Available Courses
For example, two very relevant topics available at Coursera:
- Cybersecurity
- Information Security and Risk Management in Context
… and from edX:
- Wiretaps to Big Data: Privacy and Surveillance in the Age of Interconnection
- Building Mobile Experiences
Available from both are course certificates, awarded upon successful completion (you can also just audit the course). edX also offers college credit (for a fee) for some courses. For example “Introduction to Computer Science” is offered by Harvard as a full college credit course for about $2,000.
Have a look, I think you’ll find many useful offerings to help you keep your skills current!
