I hope everyone had a good Christmas!
And like most people I tend to take off around the holidays to recharge and get ready for a new year. So in my downtime, I’ve been expanding my SharePoint skills by digging in the REST services. Wow! quite a lot you can do! However, it can be daunting to get started.
Before I continue, let me make sure you understand the technology I’m referring to:
REST stand for Representational State Transfer (sometimes written this way …ReST). It is a client-side method leveraging the standard HTTP protocol to connect to data sources. And it’s available to SharePoint development, without digging into complex code. With it, you can easily transform the data stored in SharePoint lists to create very usable and engaging displays of your data.
There are many blog posts and videos on the topic, but I wanted to share one that I found very helpful in getting started.
Enjoy and my best wishes for a successful 2017!
